Radio Frequency Press type Continuous Edge Gluer
Radio Frequency Press model CG36X100 Continuous Edge Gluer
A very heavy duty continuous edge gluer with a curing area of 36” by 100” for the production of solid wood panel stock. This press has a 100”capacity, capable of one or two ribbons of stock. Stock is fed into the press laterally by powered chains and cured into a continuous panel to allow maximum utilization of stock. Side pressure is applied by hydraulic cylinders that apply up to 175 psi to insure correct glue joints. The external, high performance RfsProtech 30 kW generator will rapidly cure the joints. All controls and interlocks for safe and efficient operation are included.

Advantages of the CG36X100 Continuous Edge Gluer
- Machine is controlled by a 15” touch screen interface that the operator uses for the initial set-up and controlled for the immediate production.
- The touch screen is linked to a PC.
- The processor controls and monitors all functions of the machine.
- The functions are all linked together for speed and safety.
- The controls are capable of outputting daily production rates and footage.
- Full automatic and manual controls are built in.
- Processor is capable of making multiple single widths or batch different widths sets.
- Full diagnostics readouts of machine functions are displayed.
- Computer is Ethernet-ready for data-applications and analyzing production.
- The lateral chain in feed allows the operator to quickly load the machine for high production.
- In feed is 60” wide x 100” long.
- Conveyor chains carry the wood toward the glue extruder.
- A 1 hp motor is controlled by a frequency inverter to allow different speeds of in feed.
- In feed is capable of using gang rip or random width lumber.
- Moveable guides fence is provided for alignment of wood.
- Quick safety shut-off is easily accessible by operator.
- The glue system is a high speed extruder type has a unique design with high-speed glue application on the edge of each board.
- The glue extruder is a pneumatically controlled system that sprays adhesive beads onto the board from a plastic or stainless steel head.
- Glue extruder is very efficient to maximize glue consumption so that minimal waste is created.
- Glue extruder is controlled by a variable speed drive with travel speeds up to 300 fpm.
- Glue is stored in a 10 gallon pressurized pot for consumption by extruder head.
- In feed table receives the lumber from the glue extruder and presents it to the press.
- The in feed table is comprised of a series of chains that ride on poly guide for smooth and dependable operation.
- Conveyor chains are driven by a 1 hp Gear motor that is controlled by a frequency inverter. This insures smooth starts/stops and speed control.
- Carriage is a through the table style with drop down fingers.
- Carriage is driven by a 1 hp gear motor that is controlled by a frequency inverter.
- The press has a special design with a high-speed flo-through design, but glues lumber in a batch form.

- A heavy welded steel from that is computer engineered to minimize deflections under maximum loading.
- Top pressure applied by four (6) 2” bore x 12” stroke hydraulic cylinders to ensure flatness of stock and to allow proper access to the platen for easy clean up.
- Side pressure applied by twelve (12) 2” for x 4” stroke hydraulic cylinders capable of providing up to 175 psi on glue joint.
- Side pressure cylinders move vertically with the top platen to allow proper feeding of stock.
- The out-feed side of the panel is clamped by six (6) 3 ¼ “ bore x 4” stroke hydraulic cylinders via friction bar to give proper pressure on the continuous panel.
- Hydraulic pumping unit powered by 3-phase electric motor uses premium components and includes all necessary valves, plumbing, and controls.
- Press contains an automatic mode that allows the top platen to open slightly higher than the stock for safety. However a cleaning mode is included that allows the platen to open higher for better access during cleaning.
- The saw is a high speed, servo driven under cut saw.
- A series of recirculating chains support the stock as it is being transferred from the press to the saw.
- Support chains are driven by a gear motor that is controlled by a frequency inverter.
- Saw is a bottom cut jump saw that utilized a 14” diameter blade with 1” arbor.
- Saw cut speed is 100 fpm.
- Saw blade is driven by a direct motor.
- Saw blade travel is driven by a gear motor controlled by a frequency inverter.
- Saw carriage travels via servo control for fast, accurate positioning.
- Top and bottom ventilation chambers are standard for sawdust removal.
- Top clamp is activated by four (4) 2” bore x 4” stroke pneumatic cylinder to ensure panel stability during cutting phase.
- After panels are cut the conveyor chains deliver the boards to the rear of the machine.
- Full manual controls of the saw are accessible at the rear of the machine.
- Safety shut down is also located at the rear of the machine.
